Este trabalho apresenta um histórico da hotelaria brasileira, realizando um comparativo com o surgimento dos centros urbanos das principais capitais e analisando o papel do hotel como indutor de crescimento urbano e desenvolvimento imobiliário, agregando valor aos empreendimentos, indicando tendências de crescimento e apontando, por vezes, o padrão a ser desenvolvido na região em que se insere o hotel. Aborda-se também o hotel como âncora de desenvolvimento turístico-imobiliário em planos diretores de empreendimentos que estão sendo desenvolvidos, especialmente no Nordeste do Brasil, em áreas afastadas dos grandes centros, assim como o retrofit hoteleiro em processos de reabilitação urbana de regiões degradadas de grandes capitais brasileiras.
This paper presents a description of a brazilian hospitality historic, carrying through a comparative degree with the sprouting of the urban centers of the main capitals and analyzing the paper of the hotel as inductive of urban growth and real estate development, adding value to the enterprises, indicating growth trends and pointing, for times, the standard to be developed in the region where if it inserts the hotel. The hotel is also approached as anchor of tourist-real estate development in managing plans of enterprises that are being developed, especially in the Northeast of Brazil, in areas located far from the great cities, as well as the hotels renovation in processes of urban whitewashing of degraded regions of great brazilian capitals.
