O trabalho analisa a evolução da cobertura vegetal em Porto Alegre e sua influência na ambiência urbana. Estuda a forma de ocupação do solo através da perda da cobertura vegetal com o avanço da urbanização, registrando os principais impactos ambientais ocorridos. Este aspecto é fundamental para o equilíbrio dos sistemas ecológicos onde está implantada a cidade. As mudanças microclimáticas verificadas em dois recintos urbanos, um com vegetação e outro sem, são relatadas através dos resultados das medições de temperatura e umidade relativa do ar, assim como da direção e velocidade do vento.
This work examines the evolution of vegetation cover in Porto Alegre and its influence on the urban environment. Studying the form of occupation of land by the loss of vegetation cover with the progress of urbanization, recording the main environmental impacts occur. This is the key to the balance of ecological systems in which the city is located. Microclimatic changes observed in two urban places, one with and one without vegetation, are reported using the results of measurements of temperature and relative humidity as well as the direction and wind speed.
