Fundo de Investimento Imobiliário é uma opção de investimento em ativos financeiros do setor de imóveis, que possibilita investir no ramo imobiliário sem precisar despender grandes quantias em dinheiro. O presente estudo tem como objetivo apresentar uma análise bibliométrica do assunto, com as seguintes informações: quantidade de artigos publicados por ano; periódicos de destaque; principais idiomas usados nos trabalhos; artigos mais citados por outros autores; e total de citações por ano. A metodologia adotada foi a pesquisa descritiva com abordagem quantitativa, na qual realizou-se uma busca na base de dados Web of Science, com os termos “fundo de investimento imobiliário” e “fundo imobiliário”, nos idiomas português e inglês, no período de 1993 (criação dos FIIs no Brasil) a 2016. Utilizaram-se as ferramentas “analisar resultados” e “criar relatório de citações”, disponíveis na base, e oSoftware Microsoft Excel para ordenar e analisar os dados. A busca resultou em 1.161 publicações, das quais 801 eram artigos. O ano que somou o maior número de publicações foi 2016, com 12,23% do total publicado no período. O periódico com mais trabalhos publicados foi Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics com 15,48% do total. O idioma predominante foi o inglês, representando 94,38% dos artigos. A produção de maior destaque foi An Econometric Model of Serial Correlation and Illiquidity in Hedge Fund Returns, na autoria de M. Getmansky, A.W. Lo, e I. Makarov, publicado no ano de 2004, e citado 221 vezes. Por fim, a maior quantidade de citações foi 958, ocorrida no ano de 2016. A presente análise contribui para elaboração da revisão teórica de pesquisadores interessados em trabalhar com FIIs, uma vez que possibilita verificar a produção científica existente sobre o assunto, propiciando assim, sustentação para o desenvolvimento de novas pesquisas na área.


Real Estate Investment Fund is an investment option in financial assets of the real estate sector, which makes it possible to invest in real estate without having to spend large sums of money. The present study aims to present a bibliometric analysis of the subject, with the following information: number of articles published per year; featured journals; main languages used in the works; articles cited by other authors; and total citations per year. The methodology adopted was the descriptive research with a quantitative approach, in which a search was made in the Web of Science database, with the terms "real estate investment fund" and "real estate fund", in the Portuguese and English languages, in the 1993 (creation of FIIs in Brazil) to 2016. We used the "analyze results" and "create report of citations" tools available in the database, and the Microsoft Excel Software to sort and analyze the data. The search resulted in 1,161 publications, of which 801 were articles. The year with the highest number of publications was 2016, with 12.23% of the total published in the period. The paper with more published works was Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics with 15.48% of all. The predominant language was English, accounting for 94.38% of the articles. The most prominent article was the An Econometric Model of Serial Correlation and Illiquidity in Hedge Fund Returns, by M. Getmansky, A.W. Lo, e I. Makarov, published in the year 2004, and quoted 221 times. Finally, the greatest number of citations was 958, which occurred in 2016. The present analysis contributes to the elaboration of the theoretical revision of researchers interested in working with FIIs, since it makes it possible to verify the existing scientific production on the subject, support for the development of new research in the area.
